House Hunting

I know everyone is hoping for wedding plans but Tyler and I decided that the planning process is on hold until we find a house in Dallas, so be patient!

We're quickly finding out that rental properties in the Dallas area are hard to nab, the good ones are only on the market for a matter of days. The first one we applied for had been available for 5 or 6 days and someone applied earlier than us in the same day. The second one we didn't even get the application sent in on the 3rd day before we heard it was gone. We're applying for one today
that has been available for 11 days and when Amanda went to check it out yesterday with our realtor and she asked the landlord directly (who just happened to be there at the time) if there were any applications in on it yet and he said no, so we're in luck!

Someone from a moving company came by to survey the house earlier this week and reassured me that it would be an easy move for them. We still haven't heard back from them to set actual moving dates, but that's probably for the best since we don't have a set destination just yet. Tyler makes fun of me because I've already started taking things down and packing them myself when his work is paying for it to be done professionally. I just want to get the decorations and furniture cleaned up so that I don't give all the movers allergies from there being so much dust and dirt floating around while they're working here. Not to mention Tyler and I have to clean the house before we leave anyways so I'm getting a jump start on that too…momma would be so proud :)

It feels strange not getting to decorate for Christmas, and having found so many great new items on sale throughout the year makes it even worse to not get to put those out on display. Tyler says he's still going to put the lights on the new house once we get there, which I think is a little crazy, but he gets that Christmas dedication from Greg.

Our next two days here will consist of me continuing to clean, maybe finishing up our Christmas shopping if I feel like getting out in this crappy weather and then packing for us to head to Dallas..yet again. Tyler and I will have to drive back out to Lubbock to be here while the movers are packing up and take whatever they aren't allowed to. We will have done more traveling in the last two months of this year than we did in the first 10, it's exhausting!

I need to get back to that list of to-do's but hopefully I'll have good news soon to report to everyone!
