Please excuse my Leave of Absence

Well, if it's any excuse…the last month has been absolutely chaotic!

Tyler became an uncle on December 9 to precious Mr Maddox Giles! He's growing quickly and we're both enjoying being so close to them during this time.

Elizabeth came out for a packed day of venue shopping and was an amazing partner that I'm glad I had with me. She asked all the right questions and took pictures and notes at every place making the overwhelming intake of information much easier to sift through afterwards while trying to make decisions. I can't thank her enough for making a day trip out just for me!

We finally hooked a house and coordinated the move in on December 23rd, which I'm sure you can guess is not exactly ideal moving time.

Tyler and I did as much work unpacking boxes as we could and had my Christmas with the Thomas' & Giles' before he took me to the airport for my two day Christmas trip to Midland.

After a short but full family visit, I came back to continue the journey to the bottom of the boxes. Greg and Shorty came over to help us hang some decor which really helped made it look like something was being accomplished. Greg came back over a few days later, this time with Uncle Keith, to hook up the dryer so that I could work on about a month's worth of laundry.  Besides buying/crafting more decorations for a few rooms all we have left to be moved in is the office and the garage, which is an understatement because both of those rooms are disasters! The garage will probably happen first so that my car can finally join Tyler's truck in the nice warm garage.

Mom flew up on New Years to check out a couple more venues and see the one that had my eye from the beginning. We spent most of Thursday (January 2nd) in the car driving from location to location and put about 300 miles on my car doing so! We met with a florist and made lots of decisions while simultaneously creating new options that need decisions as well. Friday we browsed bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal, tasted some delicious cake and came to a conclusion on a venue! That night Tyler, Mom & I made the very short drive to Frisco to meet Greg & Anita at La Hacienda Ranch for a very tasty dinner.

Today we said our goodbyes and dropped Mom off at Love Field and now have to try and knock out some things on our ever growing to-do list. At least I can cross off giving y'all a brief update! :)
