and that was pretty much it! A couple changes here and there for personal touches and then she sent them out!
After two agonizing days of waiting on snail mail to do it's thing, I started getting responses. Mallory was first to reply, with Elizabeth right behind her, both via texts with pictures of their Yes boxes checked and lots of exclamation points :)
Mallory's!
Elizabeth's!
The next day I wanted to get onto people for not checking their mail every day, but figured it would be a little hypocritical since there's plenty of days that I don't make the 15 steps to check my own. But later that afternoon I got a text from Kellie with about a 17 YAY's and a picture of Kenedi with her Jr Bridesmaid invite. (Don't worry, part of modifying hers was to change "No, I suck!" to "No Way!" :) As humorous as I find that option Lee Ann convinced me maybe it wasn't the best wording for the 9 year old)
Later that evening I got a call from Miss Courtney to excitedly confirm her attendance, then we continued to chat about wedding stuff.
I got to give Amanda her invite in person, so on Friday night Tyler and I made plans to take dinner over there and hang out. I made the mistake of handing her both the invite and a thank you note from Christmas that I just figured would be simpler just to deliver instead of mailing, which she obviously didn't need to open and read right then. So after a few minutes passed and Amanda wasn't picking up on mine and Tyler's telepathic conversation about how she didn't open the invite, I finally just pushed it closer and told her she had to open that one now. She did so and accepted with a hug.
The next morning Tommy headed over to pick up Tyler to go to Lake Murray in Oklahoma for a dirt bike/4-wheeler trip. I stayed back to watch the pups and to avoid sleeping in a tent with the spiders. Everyone survived and seemed to have a pretty good time, just waiting on them to make it back.
The registering process has been a headache! I started going through Bed Bath & Beyond's website to get a list of all the things we were going to want/need then remembered that neither my kitchen or dining room have a set color scheme and are just eclectic mixes of whatever furniture and/or decoration we had to put there. Obviously I'd like for them to have actual ideas behind them so then I had to make color decisions. Running it by Tyler I had to keep saying "picture this, but not in this house because we can't remodel the kitchen", hopefully it'll all come together once we buy a house that we can do whatever we want to it. Until then…the eclectic continues.
I'm off to go outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather we're getting, 65 degrees isn't too shabby!
