Found the Gown!

Three weeks ago when my Mom was out here for venue shopping, she was very kind to overlook the disaster area which was our house. We had recently moved in and then Christmas happened so our house had gotten little to no attention at that point. Luckily, it's received much more TLC since then so Mom had a newly dry-cleaned comforter, no boxes to maneuver around and there was even a shower rod up!

Mom flew in again last Thursday night for a weekend of dress shopping.
On Friday we met Anita & Amanda at David's Bridal where we had more luck than I had expected. I tried on quite a few dresses and then re-tried on some of those until we decided that one was our favorite out of all of them. It had a big annoying bow on the side that the manager was so awesome as to cut it off right then and there.

Our next appointment wasn't for over an hour so we stopped for lunch at Fuddruckers before continuing on to Alfred Angelo where we had a less than successful hour. It was probably a combination of them having less dresses in the style that I was looking at, and a saleswoman who was more focused on making a sale than helping me to find "my dress", but either way it was a total buzzkill.

On the way home from that appointment, Mom & I made a U-turn and browsed the children's stores/sections in the mall looking for something to catch my eye for Kingsley's Flowergirl outfit. I don't know exactly what I want for her but I know I didn't find it during that trip.

The next morning we added Maddox to our group and met up at a third Boutique for the last appointment. Seeing as it was a Saturday, the place was full of Brides-to-be shuffling in and out of the dressing rooms. Luckily we got there at 10 so by the time all the show floor pedestals were full, I was just going back and forth between dresses trying to make a decision. But after countless spins, readjusting chip clips down my spine after every move I made popped one off and walking to the other side of the store for better light, I did finally make a decision and pick out a wedding dress! As much as I would love to put up a picture for all to see, you'll just have to come out and see it in person on July 12! :)

After we finalized everything there and let Maddox eat some lunch, we drove over to Panera Bread for some lunch of our own, and to wait on Tyler to get ready and meet us at Men's Wearhouse. Last time we went to let him pick out his and the groomsmen's outfits, he didn't like the shirts that the salesman had suggested. This time we had some rough ideas and started holding different things up to the vest we picked out and finally came up with an ensemble we liked. Tyler tried it on and looked fantastic (even the salesman commented on his derrière) and then we spent, what felt like forever, pulling the sizes we thought all the groomsmen would need and getting their contact information written down.

Sometime this week Amanda and I are going shopping to try and find the same color shirt and a similar tie, since Men's Wearhouse thinks so highly of their merchandise. Surely we can find what we need for less than $150 for the pair, and maybe some fun socks as well!
